The other day I briefly recounted what I do as a professional network marketer. I want to elaborate on what is THE single most critical element in all of it: communication.
This is a no-brainer – since we are in the people business, the exchange of information is necessary for any interaction. But, like most things that are so self-evident they “don’t require mention”, it sort of gets passed over. Actually, human inter-communication is a complicated process with many components – each of which is a critical link in a fragile chain. Just imagine: You have a concept; an idea that you are excited about and are anxious to convey to the person you are talking to. In our case, it is this new paradigm of living in the world – no small issue! No – wait a minute….that’s too much…we’re just want to tell them about this new way of making money! Well, actually it’s a new way of life….
And this is our agenda: to introduce people to a new way of thinking [ roughly speaking, that's what a paradigm is]. When put this way, it’s pretty mind-boggling, isn’t it. Yes it is! And only by accepting and appreciating the magnitude of the information we want to convey can we really do justice to the process….. and increase our success tremendously.
As dramatic as I have made it seem here, it is a simple process – once you know how to do it. And I am going to dedicate a few posts here to show you how.
By the way, the communication skills I will discuss here are so simple, anyone can master them, and – best of all – they are useful in all the interactions we have – simple or complicated, one-time or lasting. That is the beauty of network marketing, As we get better at it, our lives become better, because we develop skills that serve us and those around us – not only in the vocational act of making money ( yes, this IS a business and we really WANT to make money, but that’s a different matter ) but in living life.
